Unplug, Soak, and Slow Down: A Luxury Glamping Break in Yorkshire

“At 70 years of age, I never thought I would be staying in a glamping pod… but this stay has been wonderful.”

That was the part of a recent guest’s review that made us pause. Because that’s exactly the kind of experience we hope to create — a peaceful, unexpected kind of joy that makes you say: we need to do this again.

So, here’s what a day might look like when you stay at Prospect House Farm — whether you’re 25 or 75, solo or together, and ready to press pause for a little while.

Arrival: A Change of Plans, and Pace

What started as a trip to Scarborough’s Open Air Theatre turned into something more. The couple had originally booked a hotel but stumbled upon our glamping lodges instead — and made a spontaneous decision to try something new.

Set back in peaceful woodland on the North Yorkshire coast, our lodges are private, spacious, and fully equipped. No damp canvas or sleeping bags here — just proper beds, soft lighting, and thoughtful design.

For these guests, that meant a warm welcome, no stairs to climb, and a real sense of calm from the moment they parked up and stepped out into the quiet.

Evening: Views, Hot Tubs, and Starry Skies

After a night out at the theatre, they returned to their pod to find something even better waiting — a bubbling hot tub under big North Yorkshire skies.

There’s something special about slipping into warm water after a busy day — especially when your bones ache a bit more than they used to. In their words, it was “lovely for our aches and pains.”

The stars came out. The noise of the day slipped away. And all that was left was silence, steam, and the company you’ve come away to be with.

Morning: Coffee, Birds, and Garden Talk

The next morning brought fresh air, birdsong, and a slow start. With no checkout rush or hotel buffet pressure, there was time to simply sit with a coffee and enjoy the view over the fields and treetops.

As keen gardeners, they took a wander down to the on-site plant nursery, where they chatted with Joe and Kimberley (and probably compared notes on ferns and root cuttings). They left with the car boot full of plants — and a promise to return for a Mimosa.

Midday: Saying Goodbye — For Now

Leaving was the hardest part. But they didn’t leave empty-handed. Along with their new plants, they took home something less tangible but even more valuable: rest.

A good night’s sleep. A deep soak in the hot tub. Fresh air in their lungs and a break from the usual hotel hustle. That quiet kind of joy that lingers longer than you think it will.

Glamping Isn’t Just for the Instagram Crowd

You don’t have to be 30, in walking boots, or planning a coastal hike to enjoy glamping. You just have to want a peaceful place to stay — with a touch of luxury, a lot of quiet, and space to feel like yourself again.

Whether you’re heading to the theatre, exploring the North Yorkshire coast, or simply treating yourselves to something new, our glamping lodges are here to welcome you.

We hope they do come back for that Mimosa plant — and for another lazy escape in the woods.
