5 Walks Our Camping Guests Love Near Prospect House Farm This Summer

One thing we hear all the time from our camping guests is how little they end up using the car.

That’s often one of the nicest surprises.

Many people arrive with plans to explore every corner of the Yorkshire Coast, only to discover there is plenty to enjoy right on the doorstep.

At Prospect House Farm, camping isn’t about rushing from one attraction to another. It’s about slowing down, settling in and enjoying simple days outdoors.

These are five walks our guests regularly enjoy during their stay.

1. The Bridleway Into Scalby

This is probably the walk we recommend most.

Head straight from the campsite and follow the bridleway into Scalby village.

It takes around 30 to 40 minutes at a relaxed pace and feels wonderfully removed from busy roads.

Once there, reward yourself with a coffee, an ice cream or a visit to one of the village pubs before heading back.

2. Hayburn Wyke

Hayburn Wyke is one of those places that feels like a hidden gem.

Woodland paths lead down to a small waterfall before opening out onto the coast.

It’s a great option for families and anyone wanting a proper Yorkshire Coast experience without the crowds.

3. Burniston And the Cleveland Way

If you fancy stretching your legs a little further, Burniston links nicely onto sections of the Cleveland Way.

The views across the coastline are fantastic and it’s a brilliant way to appreciate how close Prospect House Farm is to both countryside and sea.

4. A Sunset Walk Around the Farm

Some of the nicest walks don’t need a destination.

Many guests simply head out for a wander around the surrounding lanes and bridleways as the day begins to cool down.

The skies often become the main attraction.

It’s one of those simple moments that camping is all about.

5. An Early Morning Walk Before Breakfast

This might be our favourite.

Get up a little earlier than usual and enjoy the quiet before the day begins.

The birds are busy, the air feels fresh and everything seems to move at a slower pace.

It’s a reminder that some of the best moments during a camping trip don’t need planning at all.

Camping at a Different Pace

We often say Prospect House Farm is a place where people naturally slow down.

The walks are part of that.

Guests arrive with long lists of things they want to do and often leave realising the simple things were the most enjoyable.

An evening around the campfire.

A morning walk before breakfast.

A stroll into the village.

Nothing complicated.

Just time outdoors and space to enjoy it.

That’s camping at Prospect House Farm.
